Executive Biographies

Teruhisa "Teru" Moriya, President and Chief Executive Officer

Teru Moriya is president and chief executive officer of A&D Engineering. He is also a board member of A&D Technology Company in Michigan, a subsidiary of A&D Company. 

Teru became president and CEO of A&D Engineering in April 2005 after facilitating A&D's strong entry into the U.S. viscometer business. Mr. Moriya uses his visionary planning and dynamic management skills, as well as his focus on strategic adaptability and operational efficiency, to continually position A&D for ongoing and growing success.

An executive with a comprehensive background in international trade and business relations, commercial banking and strategic planning, Mr. Moriya joined A&D Company Ltd. in Tokyo in an executive management role in June 2002 and moved to A&D Engineering in 2003.

Prior to joining A&D, Mr. Moriya applied his international business expertise in managing the commercial banking division of The Bank of Tokyo and its subsidiary, Union Bank of California. During his 14-year tenure there, Mr. Moriya built the bank's international trade base and increased efficiency through streamlining operational procedures. He strengthened the firm's position in domestic and international corporate finance, fostering and managing mutually beneficial relationships with companies both domestic and abroad.

Frank Marrone, Senior Vice President, Board Member, and Corporate Secretary

Frank Marrone provides the leadership and management for Weighing Division and Medical Business Division. Responsible for both divisions as individual profit centers, Mr. Marrone works closely with the President to develop the divisions' long- and short-term strategic plans, annual operating plans and budgets. Mr. Marrone is responsible for the marketing, research and definition of all new products, as well as outsourcing for both divisions. In addition, he has responsibility for company operations, including customer satisfaction, materials management, service and traffic.

Jerry Wang, Director of Engineering & QA

Jerry Wang provides engineering support and acts as technical liason between A&D's R&D groups. Mr. Wang interfaces with new product development and provides technical training and documentation review. He supervises internal manufacturing and trains the company personnel on A&D products. In addition, Mr. Wang is responsible for assuring product adherence to government regulations, such as NTEP and Canadian Weights and Measures for the Weighing Division; and FDA and Health Canada for the Medical Division.

Fred Lau, Director of Finance and IT

Fred Lau is responsible for overall financial planning and management. He manages and maintains all functions in the Finance/Accounting Department, which is comprised of General Accounting, Financial Reporting, external and internal audits, Budgeting and Financial Analysis, Credit and Collections, Payroll, and Cost Accounting. In addition, Mr. Lau oversees the company's Information Technology functions such as, daily operations, system maintenence and improvement, and managing outsourcing service providers.

Christy Mar, HR & Corporate Administration Manager

Christy Mar is responsible for planning, implementation and administration of the recruitment, training, personnel, compensation, benefits, employee relations programs, including legal and contract matters. Ms. Mar provides counsel to Associates regarding workplace concerns and performance opportunities. In her role as Corporate Administration Manager, Ms. Mar works to provide all workplace essentials, such as Associate support and company infrastructure, corporate standards, office automation, so that associates can focus on their core duties and business responsiblities. In addition, Ms. Mar manages A&D's wellness and community involvement programs.
